The Dallas community should be proud of the positive work by Dallas Police Lt. Bill Walsh and his detectives who work daily on the serious crime of child abuse and domestic violence. The recent child porn bust now receiving national attention, Operation Avalanche, is just one example of the visionary and expert leadership of Lt. Walsh ("Child-porn inquiry nets 106 arrests - FW couple's database aided national operation," Aug. 9).

I join our community in congratulating everyone involved in breaking this case and in the continuous efforts of protecting our children from harm.
